As we approach our remembrance of the day of our Lord's crucifixion (Good Friday), I thought it might be good to share an interesting and scholarly medical article on the subject.
PubMed Crucifixion Article
Let's discuss anything and everything about the matter! Could be a spiritual reflection. Could be a favorite hymn. You can engage with the article and give your thoughts.

It may take me a while to read through this article. In the mean time I will say that there is a largely supernatural aspect to it at work. And everything was divinely orchestrated and manifested by God to fulfill scripture.
I belief the death was induced very much in the same way that death was induced on Abraham in Genesis 15 when it states that a dreadful darkness fell upon him. (I also believe the sky turning dark was simply to state that the sun was going down, hence why they wanted to take his body down before the Sabbath. I believe he died sundown Thursday, stayed dead through the Sabbath Sundown Friday into sundown Saturday, and then rose sun up Sunday. Even his followers observed the Sabbath, postponing the preparation of the burial perfumes until Sunday.
When he resurrected I believe it was akin to him appearing as a zombie. Mortal wounds and all but fully alive by the power of God, to prove to the disciples that he actually had died and was able to walk around in a fatally wounded body as if it had no effect on him. Hence telling Thomas to put his hand into his side, something that would most likely allow Thomas to feel an organ or two.

For what it's worth, I read the article myself. It's a fascinating read, but also more clinical. Which, of course, it should be, since it's a PubMed article. But I can totally understand how that might have been disappointing for you.
So, I have a couple of questions. You mention that you believe He died sundown on Thursday...
I'm just curious - could you explain your reasoning to me? I ask because the Gospel accounts explicitly state that He died on the day before Sabbath, which would have been Friday.
Also - do you see Jesus as having been resurrected, or reanimated? It might be helpful to know if you see those two as distinguishable, since I do. A zombie would be a reanimated corpse. Jesus' resurrected body, as I understand it from the text, was alive and glorified, not dead.

Well I believe resurrection is a passing from sheol into heaven. Having been resurrected he had the power to reanimate his body. 3nodding And I believe that each day is not as we see it as sun up to sundown, but sundown to sundown, making the Sabbath the period of time between sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. 3nodding

I can see how your interpretation of the days fits. Interesting! I'll have to think about that some more!
Regarding Jesus' body - I suppose I just want things to be clarified a little. In your view, was Jesus' body a living body, or a corpse that was reanimated with spiritual/magical power?

Living for sure. And currently in heaven, right? I don't remember too well but I think in revelations he is described as a wounded lamb at the father's side. I believe the same thing happened for Jonah. If you read his prayer you'll see him describing his souls decent into Sheol. Then later his skin was too sensitive for the son, which leads me to believe he was being digested inside of the fish and spit out half digested. Thus terrifying the Ninevites into repetence. 🤭 And i wouldn't describe it as magically(though ut may be seen or described that way) but supernaturally. Defying reality. Like a talking donkey, or outrunning a horse carriage, or being stricken with leprosy and immediately healed of it, or vanishing entirly after baptizing someone, or being stoned to death and then getting up and walking back into a synagogue lol. Moses spent 40 days and 40 nights before God. Scripture says he spent that time prostrate before God. And then he would come back down radiant. They could not look at his face! I believe all these things literally happened as they were written and that every one of them was a supernatural occurence.

I wouldn't describe it as magical either. We're on the same page, I think. I was just trying to get clarification to make sure we were. razz
How was your Passover meal? I know you didn't get to share it with your teacher this time.

It was great! 😁 I finally was on point with the unleavened bread. I used regular flower measurements for whole wheat flower and it looked grim. But I asked a bunch of question to Google and by the grace of God, winging the additional ingredients added, it came out perfect this time around. 3nodding I made lamb with rosemary and thyme, and added mushrooms, onions, and broccoli. I used barbecue sauce to help with eating it in haste, lol. My teacher taught that it was an experience shared with God and he likes things to be yummy. I made a side of rice and black beans and I read from Exodus 12 before eating the lamb and Matthew 26 to follow what the disciples did and honor God and Yashua Messiah's sacrifice.

I wanted to eat lamb on Thursday (Last Supper), but I couldn't because of my Lenten fast.
Now that Lent is done, maybe I'll eat some lamb. Where did you get yours?
